May 2011 Presentation ”Broadway Bound”
Reviewer
"The Broadway Bound concert was a non-stop trip down memory lane for me. As a dyed-in-the-wool Broadway fan, it was a treat to hear selections from so many different eras of Broadway history. I tried not to make any noise as I sang along with almost all of the selections. If you have not seen a Choral Guild concert, you are missing a treat that you will not be able to replicate for the money, the location or the enthusiasm."

As usual, there were theatrical aspects of the concert and much praise for the concert was heard.
The final song, "Goodbye!" from The Producers took the audience by suprise as it wasn't listed in the program. Grant, our director, made to move off stage and the chorus also made a move to leave the risers, but then the piano started playing. Grant shrugged, moved back to center and conducted our finale:

Thanks for coming to see our show
Sad to tell you we got to go
Grab your hat and head for the door
In case you didn't notice, there ain't any more!
If you like our show tell ev'ryone but...
If you think it stinks, keep your big mouth shut!
We're glad you came but we have to shout
Adios, au revoir, wiedersehen, ta-ta-ta
Goodbye...get lost...get out!!

That's when the audience jumped to their feet and , laughed and clapped loudly.
It was a tremendous amount of fun.
There were about 350 people attending the concerts plus many complimentary tickets were given out to clients of the Lowndes Advocacy Resource Center Inc.
